chains in pocket toolpath

I am new to mastercam , have problem with chaining in pocket toolpaths.

even if I draw an simple rectangle , when I try to

reganrate a path , I get an error mesage "

not all baudararies are closed "

how can I close them so I can use the standard pocket ???

Duplicate entities will be the problem here MOST of the time.

 

If there are no duplicate entities, double check to see that the corners are trimmed properly.

 

If they are trimmed correctly, make sure the endpoints are coplanar.

 

If all of the above are good, check your chaining tolerances and gap settings. wink.gif

Checking gap settings only applies when having problems blending surfaces...my bad. wink.gif

Yes, that's exactly what I meant when I said to check to see of they are coplanar. I probably should have explained it better. What I meant by coplanar is that sometimes one endpoint can be at Z+0.0002 and one at Z-0.0002 and they won't chain. mad.gif

 

When all else fails I usually delete the whole chain and start over by creating new edge curves or lines and arcs. biggrin.gif
