Creating the NC code(Version X)

I was wondering if I can somehow create the code in a .fnc file instead of .nc file for VR Milling to be able to read the code. Does anyone know how to do this?

 

If I change the file extension manually, the format for the code is wrong therefore there are errors produced when I try to run the code.

The file extension has nothing to do with wether the code is any good or not.

 

You will have to edit your Control Definition to get the desired result for your machine.

 

To change the extension of the code file you will have to go to SETTINGS / CONFIG / POST DIALOGUE DEFAULTS.

The main problem with the code is that when I try to run it with VR Milling, it gives me an error saying that a certain line is too long, so how would I fix something like that?

The line of code is:

N2 G0 G17 G40 G49 G80 G90

and it's giving me an error saying that there's too many G codes on one line.

Hao, is the VR Milling some kind of simulator?

The line that is too long is a typical start up line, if you del that line will the VR Milling run?

 

If so look in the post for a post block called psof

you will see the G80 there in quotes put a # in front of that line and you should be good to go.

Try using the free Denford post available at mastercam site . see whether they are compatible. There are some updates and downloads for your product that you might want to check out at denford site

What is G49?

 

I don't show a listing for it.

One other thing, I don't see a unit selection, e.g. G20 or 21.

why don't you try braaking the line

in two or three lines or even one line for each code, that will give you an idea of which code is the control not taking or probably is just the format and your control don't like all codes at once.

I tried breaking up the codes onto different lines but then I gave me an error saying that there's an error in the statement, like the line didn't make sense. Is it possible that if I use Mastercam to generate the code to another file format, the format of the code itself will change?

The link given above to the mastercam site for the free denford post works and I'm able to generate the NC code as well but I'm not quite sure about setting up Mastercam so that it is the same as the setup from the denford post.

The denford post I downloaded is already set up so it generates the working code but I'm not sure about setting it up for my own files. I already tried the files that came with the download but none of them worked.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
