3D Milling 17-4 ph SS

Hi all,

I am going to be programming a part 5" long, with an elliptical cone shape. I'm going to use a small diameter ball mill to do this job. Maybe 3/16" dia. I am probably going to use a TICN coated mill. Does anybody have experience with a mill that might last longer and give better results? I'd appreciate any responses.

Thanks in advance

Thanks for the input guys. I've called the Robb Jack people and got their recommendations on the tools, speeds and feeds for my applications, and they'll be overnighted for delivery tomorrow. I did have my tool crib person do some price comparisons and the Robb Jack tools are a little higher than what we're paying now, but not a lot. A couple bucks per mill. If they last a little longer they'll pay the difference with no problem.
