3D Contour with endmill

I want to cut a 3D contour with an Endmill.

MC puts the centre of the cutter on the curve.

I have comp set to off.

I want the cutters edge to follow the Blue line not the centre of the tool as you can see this causes a gouge.

 

 

 

I have tip comp set to tip

How is this done?

Unless I am wrong, cuz, I have done it this way myself you have to offset the cutter yourself, 3D toolpaths and flat endmills don't play well.

Surface project is good .

There are some other ways too .

The oldest I used before mastercam

Draw two mill sections in start and end of your line .

Draw line between their centers

Use as your geometry .

You guys nowadays turn helpless ,if you need to draw a line ? J/K

This was actually for Boeing Australia part of a fixture for FWD and AFT assy of doors.

David, surface finish scallop works very well to rough and finish those types of surfaces, you can also turn on entry and exit vectors...
