what is a non manifold body

I am trying to do a boolean add on 2 solids. After I select my two bodies I get a warning that says I have a parasolid kernel interface error, boolean error, operation would result in a non-manifold body.

 

I've checked both solids and can't figure out what my problem is.

 

Does anyone have any insights?

This error will come up when your remove operation will seperate the solid into 2 pieces. At least that's one time when it will happen.

or... in the case where you're doing an "boolean add", the solid bodies have to actually share some volume - i.e. they must overlap.

I had Matt email me if he still was having trouble. I moved solid 2 .0001 and it boolean added fine. In this case, the error was they were not touching.

Its amazing how .0001 can slow ya down.
