Hello there! I wonder, if it is necessary to use G187 (P1/P2/P3) code on Haas machines (Fanuc control) together with Create arcs in XY check box in Arc Filter/Tolerance field.

P1 - rough

P2 - medium

P3 - finish

Please help!

Here is the sample of NC code:

What is the problem? Does the surface finish look like crap. If so there is not a lot that can be done. I had the HAAS factory tech up here Frday and Saturday to adress this issue on my GR510 and there is nothing that they were able to do. He did do some servo tunning and was able to get it a little bit better but not much.

And I was only running 130 IPM.

Yeah, Jason, in places where a tool goes along curved circular surfaces, finish looks like crap smile.gif . But it seems to me that there is no circular interpalation in this areas at all. (I`ve chosen high speed scallop strategy.) confused.gifconfused.gifcurse.gifbanghead.gif . Maybe I should check .pst or hang myself.

I have also messed with the 85 and 191 SETTINGS and have not noticed any increase in quality. Doug is right. Run 30-50 IPM and the corners will look better. I can run the same programs in a corner on my Fanuc 18i controlled Yama-Seiki at speeds above 100 ipm and have a much better finish than the Haas.
