draw a 2" dia. circle w/ centerpoint on Origin.

Set Z depth to .25.

Change to 2D.

Create point at Origin.

Change back to 3D.

Create 3point Arc using Quadrant, Origin point, Quadrant.

Break arc at midpoint. (Contour for Revolved Surface)

Create line from 2D Origin point to 2" dia arc center. (Rotation Axis for Revolved Surface)

Creat/Point/Segment #=7 on the 2" circle.(always one more than you need because you'll get a duplicate at the beginning and end of the closed arc)

Draw lines to create triangle using the points.

Offset lines .1 towards the center and trim.

Create Offset Surf from Original Surf. distance=.05

Trim Surfaces to curve using the triangle.

Create/Curve/All Edges on top surf.

Create/Draft Surface using edgecurves, distance=.05.

Then I should be able to simply re-do the toolpaths, right?

That would normally be fine, but I really

want to learn how to do this, because the

triangle was only just an example used for simplicity.

There are many more shapes, much

more complicated, that I would like to do.

Best,

On this note...

Has anyone here ever tried a webcam + messenger one on one help session?

Seems to me like that might make things a little more practical.

Is there something I'm missing that would make this impossible? I don't use messenger but from what I gather I don't see why that wouldn't work.

Then people could copy the steps as you go along.

That is how I learned...

Back when I started on night shift the programmer would work from home from a network and I could see what he was doing from the shop monitor. If it wasn't for that I might never have had a chance to pick any of this up.

Just a thought...

Ocean Lacky -

Thanks, I'm struggling through it right now.

I'll see what I can come up with and report back.

Ocean Lacky, Matt, flycut, and John -

I appreciate the offers, but the school's computers

are not on the 'net, and neither is my friend's.

I'm doing this by using my laptop and cell phone

to get internet access, while sitting here using

my friend's installation to learn when I'm not in school.

... and I use Linux... so no windows remote assistance for me.

To be frank, if it weren't for MasterCAM,

I would never touch a windows computer.

I've come to loathe windows.

But I digress. This isn't an OS discussion.

Best,

Weyland

Ocean Lacky - yes, that's what I do,

but it seems that MasterCAM doesn't like me.

It just turns red and puts 0.0 back in there.

Matt - Wow. This is waaaaaayyyy beyond me.

I'm doing my best to keep up, though.

Thanks for the effort. I'm still wrestling it.

Best,

Weyland
