I have a question about post possibilities. Just to explain how I run my machine. I have a main program that calls up my sub programs, I do this for a couple reasons. I can search faster for the tool that I need to run, I can control the order in which I run the tools. What I want the post to do is post the main program out as a separate program. Right now we hand write the main program and I want to get rid of the human error involved with that.

My main programs look like this:

(main program)

G90 G40.....

G54 M198 P1001;

M117;

T2;

M6;

G54 M198 P1002;

M117;

T3;

M6;

G54 M198 P1003;

M117;

T4;

M6;

G54 M198 P1004;

M117;

T5;

M6;

G54 M198 P1005;

M30;

The P1001 stands for operation #1 tool #1. When I program a job I put each tool under it's own operation group so when I post them out they are posted out separately as sub routines. So I would like it to take the names of the operation groups and make the main program from that.

Is this possible?

Any help would help a lot.

I would think so but it would need to be handled with buffers and also would need to have the post customized to the extent to support it. I would look at the Fadal Post in Format 1 and enable subs it does a really good job of supporting sub though it keeps them in the main body of the program, but it would be a good start to look at.
