Using version 9 when i go to remove face, i click the face and the whole solid unselects. Is there a way do this that i am missing. I am fairly new to solids toolpaths. Thanks

do a create-surface-from solid. (version9)

Then select your solid. Now you can machine the individual surfaces.

Otherwise just to work with the solid you will have to use boundrys. I always turned them to surfaces and worked with it from there.

When you select solids in V9 or MCX you have the option to select the whole solid, faces on the solid, or edges of the solid. In V9 these options apear on the side menu and will have either a "Y" or an "N" next to them. "Y" turns the selection on "N" turns it off. In MCX you have buttons that toggle the selections on or off. So to do what you want turn solids off, edges off and leave faces on and mastercam will only select the face you click on.

Hope this helps,

Justin
