CUT AND PASTE OPS

In 9 cut, copy, paste, drag and drop worked like a charm, (drag, right click, select option). Since X dragging and dropping multiple toolpaths of any type can cause a lock up for me (I'll admit I haven't tried it in awhile) I do copy and paste successfully although the red arrow likes to shift up to the top and make me then have to move the verdammit toolpath to where I had placed the red arrow in the first place.

Keith,

I have different machine groups for each component

within one file, usually,

-1 machine group

-1 component

-1 batch of ops

I try to keep copy and pasting down to a minimum,

drag style or not. I'll make a new path from

scratch to a void these problems.

If I have 2 similar components I copy the entire

batch of tools to a new machine group for the

other component, reselect the geo and regen

then delete the ops I don't need. Alot less

problematic for me.

Having the different machine groups for each

component allow for separate stock setups for each

as well

Rickster,

I handle different parts much the same with machine groups. On one part I may be working on multiple faces hence the start of groups. iwill also create sub-groups to minimize the length operations listed ops within the ops manager (some time the list is too long and i have to scroll, lazy huh). Other times I will segragate series of ops with-in sub groups that pertain to certain mold details...i.e. Mold Bushings that I pull ops from a OP Library.

it's copy .. paste to Red Arrow.... done

Gcode,

I don't agree considering that the "copy, paste to red arrow' BS is only a portion of the problem with features in the OP manager. if you don't agree with me thats fine. Regarless of that the features that you are saying to avoid should work flawlessly and don't. It is pretty bad when you do the work and you have to keep an extra eye on what the software SHOULD do.

Keith , it's not that I don't agree with you, I simply don't have any problems with the Ops Manager.

My files are typically 100 -250 operations

with mulitple Machine Groups, Groups and Sub groups. Toolpaths are mostly 5 axis postioning

with lots of high speed rest roughing ops.

I cut and paste and move things are all the time.

Yes, it could be easier and it could work better,

My biggest gripe is rest roughing OPs loose thier

link to the STL stock file too often.

The current system works very well for me...I'm

happy with it.
