I am using Mastercam 9.1 on WinNT4 SP6 old stuff I know.

I am trying to extrude a simple solid shape using curves initially taken from a dxf file. I have checked the boundary curve are all ok no breaks etc but am now getting an error message I dont understand. "Parasolid Kernal Interface Error. PK error code: 942 curve crosses edge"

What does this mean and how can I solve the problem? banghead.gif

actually wasnt that easy to catch..

chook findovlp didnt catch it either..squashing geometry..creating a surface flat boundry..then recreating a edge curve...non helped me find it.

I switched the chaining tolerance and then it showed a red/green arrow and where the troubled spot was.

I got lucky... rolleyes.gifcheers.gif

Analyze chain will show this too. If there are entities on top of each other, you'll get a "reached a branch point" message and the red arrow will mark the area to zoom in on. This is my Plan B whenever a quick visual and find overlap don't work. Rarely do I have to go any farther since analyze chain is usually successful.
