G53 positions

Hey All,

 

I am looking to post G53 locations instead of G30 or G28 so that all moves are in reference to machine 0, I tried a search to no avail. I am using the mplmaster post.

I should have said machine home positions, not all positions. Sorry.

G53 is a "one shot" command. You need to call it on every line in which you want the call to be active.

you could do away with the G28 calls at the end and place a G53 there then you could set a question to ask while posting and plug in the position you want to use.

 

I think that would work.

 

or you could use MR/MI variable to get the values in as well.

The only g28 that I used to use was for z axis retraction. All others were g53. The most common being g53 y-.5 . This way it stays .500 away from machine zero and stays off of red light condition.

Yup, 10/25 - 11/1

i will wave when we go by. my wife and are going on 14 day panama canal cruise. close to same time. i call it a a one way trip to fort lauderdale. stops in cabo,acapulco,guateca,costa rica,panama and columbia.

Is this for a Haas lathe? The way my post works for the haas lathe is it post a g129 for the tool change position. It works pretty well for us!!

No it is for a NL2500SY with the Mitsubishi control, you can also set up a position like this, and call from the NC, but if I use G53 positions, there can be no mistake.
