File New Problem

When I am done with the milling job I am doing and want to start a new file, I hit file new and MC tries to load a 5axis MMD (which of course, I dont have), and then proceeds to give error "cant find MMD".

Where can I change the file new default MMD?

I know that I can choose Machine type design first and then choose machine type mill, but is that the only way?

Thanks,

Andy

In Settings> Configuration>Default Machines I have my mill as a default.

Toolman, I understand and I do know that and that works.

So why does file new bring up an different MMD.

It must be a default somewhere???

Thanks,

Andy

I have run into this before, but in my example, the setting for default machine would not stick. The only way I could get around it was to:

1. Copy the machine file it is looking for back to cnc_machines

2. after starting a new file, and the 5ax machine is loaded without error, then go to config and change your default machine.

Maybe that will help.
