I was wondering if anyone has a good way using Mastercam to tap on a FADAL? If so, How do you go about it and what codes are important because I am sure you cant have the over rides turned on the control when you are using this.

Thanks,

Use G84.1 This turns on rigid tapping

you will need to put a Fxxx for spindle speed and

a Q.xxxx which is the pitch.

If you don't have rigid tapping (an option I think) use G84 instead with the same Fxxx and Qxxx

The G code disables the spindle override and the feed override so it does not need to be set to exactly 100%.

Hope this helps

Hi Lou, I see they got you tapping over there now. I'm having to tap a lot at the new job, but we have Haas mills here, so our post wouldn't be any help. Did you try editing the program and replacing G84 with G84.1?

Mostly just wanted to say hi from the other side. Good luck with your project.
