Mastercam Backup

Can someone tell me how to open, and where to find a backup file. I just had a crash and lost all geometry and programming. I remember turning on backup last time this happened but have no clue how to use it.

In Settings - Configuration and on the left hand column select Files and the submenu Autosave/Backup.

 

This is where you could setup your backup settings.

Go to Settings/Confing/Files and see where

the default location is.. I think its in the Common folder inside your Mastercam install folder.... or use windows search to look for

*.mcx inside your install folder.

Firstly, go to settings, config.

 

Next, open the "+" next to files and click on the "autosave/backup"

 

Is the option to "use backup directory as defined in files" selected ?

 

If so, click the "files" tab and then under "data paths", click "Backup Files"...

 

Note the location in the box below labeled "Selected Item:". This shows the path of your backup files.

 

Open up the most recent one and re-save in the correct folder with a new name and you should be all set.
