Feed plane issues

Sorry guys I really wish I had the distaste for Mastercam that you guys do. I mean I wish I could really see some major faults when I have to adjust something to get what I need. I guess none of you guys had to sit down and spend 140 hours writing a program with calculator and paper so you just can not appericate how good you have it.

Here is the fix for now since it is not to your liking. Change the depth cut options to keep tool down change the plunge feed rate to 1000 ipm now you get the same thing as a rapid.

Me personally I would rather see the Mill/Turns get some attention then this what you call a bug. I can also make changes to my post that if this toolpaths is used it would give me rapids but I guess a 1000 ipm is just not fast enough.

I care about making Mastercam better so before you go making assumptions about me know me 1st!! I Beta test and I help many others on this forum to help the industry using Mastercam. Sorry if I think you are complaining verses trying to find a solution to your problem. You want it to do something different than it does, get involved email QC and let them know what you are seeing. I really think you are nit picking you want to complain about something lets talk about wait codes for Lathes that use them that is not supported. Lets talk about simulation for those machines that is not supported sorry if some adjustments to what you are use to may be needed. I however think there are more pressing issues for Mastercam then some toolpaths that might need some different approaches by its users then what they are use to.

Im not crying about it i just think its wrong. So why not send it to qc. It seems like a quick fix.

I have lots of respect for mcam and i used to do everything by hand so i do appreciate what mcam does for us. But whats right is right and wrong wrong.

I know you guys are just trying to help and thats much appreciated.

Your right mcam has lots of other more urgent things to deal with that should demand their attention.

I was just expressing my opinion on this topic, not trying to say mcam stinks or anything.

I use x2 mr2 and i love all the changes and would never go back to 9

Changing the plunge rate is a good idea for a quick fix. Thanks for the suggestion.

I have been searching through the old posts and it seems to me I remember now someone, Mark Bana I think, headscratch.gif having this issue and going to CNC with it, and their response was "it functions as intended."

I'll see if I can find the thread but in the mean time it never hurts to shoot them an email.

No distaste for me.

We are still waiting for them to fix the create curves on all edges. We use that function all the time. We went back to MR1 cause the function was corrupted or lost in MR2. Great for making containment borders. Gotta do what you gotta do. Plus MR2 still seems a little unstable unless you are willing to get rid of previous versions and jump in fully to MR2.

create curves thread

Mike sorry to hear your having problems! Upgrading can be good and bad.

Merry Christmas! The kids are asleep and I have some work to do.

Mike:

run around.. Hmmm Hmmm (you supplied no explanation of what you were looking for.. just the "Z2G" file)

As far as your "circle mill".. you have feedplane at -.812.. top of stock at "Z 0."..the depth at -.812 with multiple depth cuts at .25 deep..

so your first "Z" depth cut is at -.2025 (included in doc file Mike.doc)... I'm not sure what your trying to do in the circle mill...

I also fixed your tap cycle as well as your mill_inch.defaults so you can customize your cycles...

I wouldn't call that much of a run around

As for Version 9... "BC mfg" has never had Mastercam until purchasing Mastercam X2 MR2...

You know, many companies/people (for some WACKED OUT REASON that I can't even comprehend) when they have access to the latest will still refuse to move on and they choose to run old stuff. Meaning; V9 disks are plentiful and not hard to come by. Once your SIM runs the latesst, it will also run the previous versions as well.

CNC Apps Guy teh hoping there are no pirates among us. biggrin.gif

He is referring to his company being slammed by Mike and when Mike called him about a problem the above thread and problem was never mentioned to him. He came on here to clear the Air. It was also weird to him that since they only just bought Mastercam how could they have had previous version is what I take from the above quotes. I could be wrong, but that is what I take from it. rolleyes.gifrolleyes.gif
