Master Cam X2 geomatry / solid error

When I try to regen a model or toolpath in X2 I all of a sudden get an error. It started last month by saying it could not find geomatry. When I forced a regen on it it seemed to fix itself.

 

Now I am getting the following pop ups,

 

(Error processing solid title)

1st window: No valid close chain selected for non thin walled extrude.

 

(error processing solid title)

2nd Window: Error reapplying operation, regen not complete

 

Once it loads after I close the boxes, the operations manager shows all the solids I had previously created. But they are all X'd out under the solids tab.

 

All this use to not happen, nothing was changed, nothing updated. Now I cannot open anything without that error.

 

 

If anyone can help me out I would really appreciate it!

Have you tried a repair of Mastercam?? Are you using Mastercam created solids or imported solids? Have you done any windows updates in the last month where maybe your video drivers got updated?

I would recommend that you use the Solids Manager and edit the geometry of your Solids - somewhere the underlying geometry (like the chain for the thinwall extrude, maybe) got dis-associated from the Solid. You should be able to select new chain(s) and then regen the solid.

Differences in chaining tolerance can cause these problems too.

If a file is done on one computer with a chaining tolerance set at .001 and opened on another system

with the chaining tolerance set lower (.0002)

it can cause the whole file to blow up
