Stock for toolpaths

You still need to pick the drive surfaces to want to cut, you include the .stl as a representation of the cutting condition. It will base what needs to be cut based on the difference between your drive surfaces and your .stl file

So let me get this right - I run a verify with all ops - save as a stl - create a surface rough restmill toolpath - when prompted for drive surfaces select the entire solid - then when the dialog box comes up for drive check and containment click the cad file button and open up the stl file I have saved - then set my depths and regen - I have done this several times and got NOTHING - I even called support - someone help me before i slam my head against the wall. PLEASE_____

Jamie - I called CNC software in Ct - He tried and said that it didnt work on his system either - his only fix was to select - compute remaining stock from all previous ops under the restmaterial parameters tab. That still is not working for me

I've had problems trying to use an stl file and restmill, too. It said something about it couldn't find anything to cut. So I went back to using the previous toolpaths. I didn't know if it was because my files are typically large ones. Plus I get tired of messing with trying to move the file back to my car position workplane. G-code told me how to save it to car position OUTside of verify, but inside of verify I can't find a way to make it save the stl where my part actually is. Kind of retarded for it to save the stl file based on the mc top workplane rather than the one I'm actually using.

Pick your containment. Green Check. Set cut parameters. When you hit the green check, a dialogue box SHOULD appear to select your CAD file. Choose it and Green check again. Toolpath SHOULD begin calculating at this time.
