X+ excel output

I'm starting to use the X+ setup sheet and have some questions.

1. The excel output dosen't work. I have office '97.

2. How do I edit the excel template file?

I am on the same page as you. Same questions. Although mime works with the excel I have 2003. Just want to edit it.

I put up a few posts on how to get this done a while ago. If a search doesn't find anything let me know and I will dig something up.

What I did to start out editing and creating one was to copy and paste the Format_sheet.xss and format_sheet.xlt files and renamed to test. Then I opened the .xlt file and deleted all the macros out and had the GUI of the X+ setup sheet add every single option I think I would want output. This way you have a basic sheet with all the output formated the way it is given and you can work backwards into designing and laying out your own setup sheet.

You could go in and turn off the macros in the .xlt file but I deleted them just so I could have a base I can refer back to when needed.

GMS1, What program did you open the .XSS file with? or do you just rename the .XSS file and edit the .XLT file?

The .Xss and .Xlt files will be the same name.

You don't edit the .xss file. Only the .xlt

I only had to open the .xlt (template) file. It is a standard excel file type and in order to open a template file you have to right click and select open. You cant just double click it.
