Is there a way to toggle off the surface normal color (feature) so that your surfaces are the same color on both sides.

Yes, that works to change the color but all the different colors have the same backside color when you change them, still.

 

Can each color just be the same color on both sides?

 

if the normals are opposite you see the backside color

 

can you have all the normals point the same direction with out having to change each one individually?

I just figured how to set all the normals to the same direction at once.

There is a tool to automatically set all surface normals to be normal to the Z+ direction of your current Construction plane.

 

Edit | Set Normals

 

This solution works great, except for the "bottom" surfaces if you are doing work from both sides of the model.

I realize this thread is 8+ years old but it's the closest relevant one I found when I searched so please don't bust my chops..

My question is the reverse of the above, I've set the "Backside color" for surfaces but it doesn't change.

It stays stuck on whatever color in both wireframe or shaded.

Oh yeah, currently MCX9.

Not earth-shattering yet annoying

Check your system Configuration, CAD Settings tab.  There should be a check box for "Draw highlight on back of surfaces".

That did the trick.

Thanks so much...seemed like a lame question maybe but in all reality 

this is the first new multiaxis project I've gotten to develop since I upgraded to MCX9

So that might give you an inkling into how xxxx is here after another corporate (English)

ownership change.
