windows xp sp3 update and X2

we have 8 seats of mcam here. after winxp sp3 update......2 seats of mcam won't open files.

 

 

warnings or errors with these files.

cfgstart.tmp

lastchn.tmp

 

any ideas on what the culprit is?

go into your common/temp folder and delete the stray files in there

I never have any files in my common/temp folder. How and why do they get there?

Sometimes when Mastercam experiences an "abnormal" shut down, it doesn't clean the file up like it is supposed to. If you start experiencing odd crashes, it helps to check when Mastercam is closed if there is still anything in the folder. If MCAM is closed and stuff is in there it can be deleted.

When Mastercam is closed, this folder should be empty.

Sometime a crash leaves wreakage in the TEMP

folder.. this can cause conflicts with future sessions..

 

To see for yourself..

Close MC

Clean TEMP

Open Mastercam file containing solids

Look in TEMP

Close Mastercam

Look in TEMP

Weird,

I don't have any crashes on this pc but in mc/common/temp location I had a whole bunch of folders with several files each in them. Efter deleting them all and starting/closing mc I hava a new folder (empty) named "093526".
