strange things posting

I was running a surface finish - parallel toolpath and right in the middle of the program it went off into left field. This move the machine made did not show up in the verify and I have used this post for a few years and NEVER had a problem. I changed my machine definition to one with a more current post and it posted this line right in the middle of the program

 

N51250 X6.955 YY-2.5468 Z-1.4635

 

This caused the machine to produce an error (multiple codes). Any idea what might be going on? How do I prevent this sort of thing in the future?

Did you compare the posted code on your pc to the code in the machine that alarmed. I ask this because the only time I have seen double codes like that were from bad DNC transfer to the machine.

The code was posted directly to the machine through ethernet. This is the first time I have posted large programs like this so I think it is machine/ communications related.

Does your machine have a graphics screen? If so, I would plot it out at the machine and it will show any weird moves.

I had a similar problem. It put a G18 in the middle of the program (verify didn't show it) and ruined a tool, toolholder and a $8,000 insert. I contacted my reseller about it and he could'nt figure it out. I reposted it and everything was okay.

It's impossible to look over 16Mb of text, but the machine backplot showed it, I just didn't look closely enough before I ran it. I shoulda zoomed out a little...

i had a problem like that a couple of years ago and i put in a .05 delay in the dnc to the machine. the memory in the machine was getting overun a bit so the .05 delay helped

Not sure on that one. It is a new Haas VM3.
