Mastercam crash

[CNC PRO]

I am starting to have a problem with MC crashing whenever I leave MC sit for awhile (about 10 minutes...this varies) or after every time the screen saver has come on.

I used to have this problem running X2 as well, after I installed MCX3-MU1 I didn't have this problem untill now...it started again. I am not doing anything different then I have been doing???

 

Here is the error message I get:

mastercam.exe-Fatal Application Exit

"Mastercam execution halted."

 

Anyone have any idea what this means? (reason for this error?)

This is frustrating me as all get-out!

 

Any thougts on this matter are welcome and appreciated.

I removed my screen saver, it was making my system crashing all the time (from X version). Then the system became more stable

 

Now, i am using X2MR2 wich is more stable.

 

A few week, ago i tried to work with X3 and had mastercam crashed many time in a row. I'll wait for the fix also.

I turned the screen saver off, it seems to fix the problem...Thanks for the help.

This has happened in the past and may be based on what your 'Power' settings are...different things can happen when the screen saver kicks in (like going to 'sleep' or turning off the disk, etc). The problem might lie somewhere in there.

I'm having a problem with the screen saver also. If I have clicked the Depth button,(or any button which requires me to click a point on the part), but have to get away from my desk & the screen saver kicks in, the routine gets lost. The Operations Manager rollover button don't highlight or work anymore & when I try to close Mastercam, it says, "You cannot close the application while a task is active".

I've been noticing it when aero is enabled. So I just went to windows classic, no screen saver, no sleep and it stopped.

Is the screen saver really needed? I turn them off all computers I use. Don't see the benefit in using them.

Screen saver is not really needed here & has been disabled, but what about other places where security is a concern (spiteful employees, etc) ? Besides, it's still sloppy programming & needs to be fixed.

As Pete mentioned above, Power Settings can cause this problem also. One of the old culprits is the USB power saving option which shuts off the sim and viola ! MC locks up, check power settings for USB ports and see if that helps.

Our SIM is on a server. At least 3 instances of Mastercam X4 MU3 are running at all times.

I think this ties into my dual monitor/Volumill problem. Volumill fixed there's yet MasterCam is locking up on its own now.
