Box Font for Create Letters

The font I primarily use when creating letters

for engraving part #'s on my mold castings is

the BOX.MCX font.

 

Well now that X3 MU1 crashes my software every

time I use it, it make engineering changes on

existing files useless.

Its obviously a bug, but is not gonna get fixed until X4 a presume.

 

I can not find/create the exact same font in

Create Notes to do changes now.

 

Does any one know how to achieve the same font

attributes in create notes so I can getter done?

Here the example:

 

I need the white lettering to look exactly like

the red.

This is the best I can come up with.

Notice the difference in the styles?

The crashes I have had with create letters were with true fonts as well.

 

I never had this problem with V9.1, X or X2 either.

 

There is quite a difference in the 2 styles above when you have a good look at it.

I can make letters in my MX3 all day long without a problem but I keep getting the same results as your white letters. No matter what font I try, I can't get it to look like the red letters. Sorry. I tried.

I'm using MX3 without the MU1.

I put a file in the X3 Directory on the FTP. Rickster Letters.MCX I was thinking you could copy, paste, and scale. HTH

Jason, small files, no problem. After 50-100 meg or

so crash everytime. My files are always 100 to 500 meg. need work around for create letters.

 

Ocean(did you use create letters?) I will look into it but in create letters

you pick the height and spacing. I adjust the spacing differently from job to job.

(remember it crashes on big files starting around the 50 to 100 meg mark)

 

when EC's come in and the part#'s change I export the # and open a new file do the changes than inport the changes and replace the old and all is good. It just sucks to have to do all that after hoping create letters wont crash when trying to do a simple simple simple simple change.

Rick, yes, I used Create Letters Box Font, but i just noticed the 3 and the 5 are still different from yours. Went back to V9 and they are the same as what I have in X3MU1.

Mine are unaltered accept the spacing, so I don't know why they are slightly different.

The 9 and 6 are close enuf, but the bug will not allow me to do a change in create letters, hence the work around request for create notes

I did it as letters in the file only. Probably why it worked. I did not try it with a big file yet.

Don't waste your time and money trying in X3 MU1.

X4 should have this bug fixed hopefully before MU1.

If you gonna be stuck at X3 MU1 then I apologize to you, for CNC.

Don't feel alone. I also crash while creating letters. It doesn't matter which font I use. Come on X4!!

as soon as I create 1 or 20 #'s or letters, hit

the checkmark. go to place them, then crash.

 

if it doesent crash then, soon after especially when I get all excited that it may have worked.

i hit save and it crashes during the save, everytime.

This crash n Create/Letters was logged (#41261) a few seconds after X3 MU1 was released. It is limited to the "MCX"-style fonts (Box, Block, etc).

It has indeed been corrected for X4.
