X4 & Moving Solids

Recommended Posts

Hey Gang,

I've run into this issue a number of times but haven't figured out the exact steps to reproduce it...anyone else seen this?

Create a solid using a bounding box

*OR*

Merge a solid model

Select the solid using either Select All - choosing the Level the solid is on, or windowing in on it.

Move the solid with Xform Translate. Doesn't matter which method is used. All wireframe entities selected along with the solid move but not the solid itself.

Select All doesn't highlight the solid, windowing in on it does.

Click directly on the solid to select it and it will move. After the first move, it can be moved using either method mentioned above with no problem. banghead.gif

Regards,

John

I have reports of the same issue from a couple of our programmers recently. I've personally experienced an issue with moving or copying a solid to an alternate level. you can select it but it will not move. This doen't happen all the time and there doesn't seem to be any pattern when the problem occurs. When the problem occurs I save the file shut Mastercam down and then it works just fine.

I suggested saving your file, shutting down Mastercam and restarting it when you have the similar problem during the Transform operation and then try it again. Everytime this type issue occurs restarting always resolves it till it happens again.

It always seems to be Solids and the problem preceeds X4
