Verify crashes or locks up when using STL file

Is anyone else experiencing problems verifying STL files?

I have 2 different terminals using different graphic cards and they both crash or lock up.

I am not able to verify existing files I know worked in X3.

Any thoughts?

Check the "STL Model problems"

settings at

System Config/Verify Interface/Verify Settings.

These switches are new to X4.

I have mine set at

"fix bad polygons"

and Always prompt

Yes!! Happens often! I create an .stl from a step file within X4, but when you use that .stl file as stock in verify, it will ALWAYS error and try to repair the .stl. In most cases it will repair and verify fine, but if you verify a 2nd time in the same session, you will almost ALWAYS CRASH! Mcam's verify has been nothing but a POS since I can remember! Unfortunately, that is all I have. CNC has totally disregarded several complaints on this forum and my emails after crashing while using their verify utility.

I been having the same problem (X4 mu1) in verify when try to use STL files. Same STL work fine in X4.

so i guess it is another X4 MR1 bug.

X4 MR1 will crash or freeze when try to use STL with muliple solid. That is one more ression not to upgrade to MR1

Thanks for the advice. I tried both settings on an old STL file. Both attempts locked up.

 

I made a new STL file with the new settings and it worked....only for the first session. Then I experienced the same thing as peon. CRASH!!!

I just don't understand how that utility can remain trash for so very long. I used the same .stl file for a rest roughing operation and it worked fine, but then verify tells me its no good.

We use the utility religiously. We draw up the fixtures, parts and anything else we need to make a complete setup. We then create an STL file of the setup and run an verify session to insure everything is as it should be. In X3 it worked about 85% of the time. Very helpful.
