Course or fine tooth roughing hogmills for Ti?

I have always used course tooth powdered metal roughers with Ti with OK results, but now im being told that using a fine tooth will increase feed and prolong tool life. Before giving this new tool a try, anyone have any experience with this, or comments?

 

I have wasted a lot of time and tools listening to what the tool reps recommend, so I though I would ask first..

Sometimes a fine tooth rougher does work better. What typ of matrl are you cutting? Dollar for Dollar I choose the SGS Z-Carb over a rougher any day!

+1 Guy has some rockin tools. Diamondback works pretty good too.

Anybody tried these WaveCut type endmills? They sure look pretty cool..

There are a LOT of tools out there and of course every tool rep says that their tool is the best for the job. It seems that only about 10% of the time are they correct.

I've actually used the Destiny's. No hype. They do the job.

Hanita has Vision Plus carbide roughers 250sfpm .0026 ipt in >40rc Ti for a 1/2" endmill

 

1/2" Hanita Varimill 170sfpm .0016 ipt in Ti.

 

I use the Varimills for just about everything except for Aluminum,bronze,and Plastics.

Great quality and good prices.

Well comes down to what you are cutting. We cut 10-2-3 and Course worked great before Heat treat, then we switched to fine after heat treat. Depth of cut, diameter, horsepower of machine and as you know many other things are important.
