Solid needs geometry

I have a solid that was imported from solidworks, and it has lines and arcs around all of the solid except the top. Is there anyway that i can pick the solid and it will add the lines to the rest of the solid? I have used create curve on all edges on similar parts and it would help, but not on this one. Thanks

Is the top of that part curvy? I've seen this with loft's and sweeps. Multiple entities in a chain will merge the loft or sweep into one feature and you can't create a curve from it. Makes it a Bit@# to analyze the feature.

What I've done in the past is dupe the troublesome surfaces to a new level, then trim them to a plane or another surface, usually, but not always, splitting them down the middle. I'll then create curves off of the resulting edges and simplify them if necessary.

That is the nature of solids. Change the method at which the solid is being shown. There are 3 different options for showing the solid. Have you tried the No Hidden wire frame show method? Also something I forgot about is the unchecked all entities when shading and you can just shade selected entities.
