What communication hardware/software and wired or wireless

I'm looking for information on communication/dnc systems that are available? At the shop I work at we have several Mastercam seats each one hooked to a few cnc machines where we use a manual switch box to send and recieve programs.

We have approximately [30] machines running Cimco DNCMax V5, mostly converted to wireless, though a few are still wired in [if it is working I am not going out of my way to convert].

 

Our on-machine "radios" are Moxa NPort W2150 Plus, our access point is a Cisco Aironet something. Access point is connected to the network DNC server through a network switch we already have on the floor for our shop-floor PCs and the old DNC hubs.

 

DNCMax has been bulletproof for us since the first day, and S4A are the tops for tech support. Before DNCMax we ran a stone-age DOS editor/comm package with the A-B-C-D boxes off the PCs on the floor. There is absolutely no comparison possible; like comparing a sniper rifle and a slingshot.

we use dnc max from wonderware all wired in so far we like it sure beats floppy drives ....

Cimco DNC Max wireless. Over 30 machines using remote requests and program compare backup. Absolutely no problems.

Cimco DNC Max Wired here with over 45 machines and everything works like a charm. We are not wireless because it was not available at the time of purchase and we do not want to change something that works.

We use Cimco DNCMax linked to Moxa Nport servers (four of them), to run to 24 machines in the plant.

 

We use barcode scanners to do remote requesting for the programmes.

 

The setup works really well, and I also backup the support from S4A. They are great to deal with.

We use custom dnc software on fiberoptic to each machine. We use diskless workstations that run on glass as well. Very fast.
