Heidenhain Question

G'Day People,

Just a quick question about feed rates, if anyone is clued up on Heidenhain Controllers.

After posting a program with MC through to the CNC, is their a way to edit the feed rates all at once. Other controllers can. Or is it quicker to edit the pro again back in MC. Its a pain in the arse if your taking 0.05mm depth cuts on an electrode and you have punched in the wrong feed.!!!

Help me please, Heidenhain Masters!

It is best to edit the program in mastercam(cimco editor)

As you surely found out you can edit the feed on the controller but it has to be edited on every feed line.

You can't find and replace on these controllers.

if its a 426 control use feed auto for your feedrate. Define "tool cal1 1 z s1000 f1000 "

this way all ou have to do is change the feedrate at the toolcall line

Some people use Q values instead of outputing the actual feedrate. Just an idea.

Exactly what Roger said. Have your post output a "Q" instead of a feedrate. Then anytime the machine is running, you can single block, hit the "Q" key, change your value, hit enter, change back to full sequence, and off you go with your new feedrate.

Using Q for feedrate is something I want to do too.But how do you separate plunging feedrate and cutting feedrate in postprocessor?

I'm already using toolnumber and spindlespeed values through Q.

We use Q31 plunge rate Q32 feed rate. Just change

values at start of program.
