It is great toolpath use it all the time you have to be real careful that you are using start from center also I never use it with control. always with wear or computer. If computer I cut it then check size the adjust the program re-post and then go from there. It really comes down to what you are trying to do. Look in the help section or put a sample up of what you are having a problem with and I am sure someone will be more than glad to help you out.

First, is it internal or external? I recommend you turn on "helical entry" on top and bottom of the thread. In addition, if it is internal, you can turn on "start at center" and "perpendicular entry". This will give you a perpendicular move to the start of the helical entry move.

I would recommend one or two rough passes, and a single finish pass. Really depends on material. What size threads?

If you have the tool. I recommend that you probe the diameter and make the a custom tool for your part. I called up Advent and they will give you the drawings for their inserts. Which makes drawing up custom tools a breeze. Then just watch your verify closely. Watch for any potential problems. Other than that it was no problem to thread mill.

One more thing Mig,

Thread Mill Vs Tread Mill, one is something used for fastening, the other is for people that need to burn off some calories. Big difference.
