Surface High Speed Problem

Hey Everybody, so my part looks like a picture frame with a slight radius on the face. I'm using surface high speed, core roughing, and no matter what parameter I check/uncheck, I cant stop the tool from pocketing out the center window. I tried making containment at Z0 just inside the center window, I tried area clearance but I can't keep the tool from trying to pocket the center area. Keep in mind the center window will come out, just not yet, I have screws in there holding the part down. I just want to rough the radius. Any idea how to keep the tool out of the center? TIA! banghead.gif

HST core rough doesn't support check surfaces. but it does support nested containment boundaries. Since a single containment boundary will keep the tool inside it, use nested boundaries to stay inside the outer boundary but outside of the nested boundary. you may want to create some cylinders that represent your bolt heads and add them as drive surfaces to ensure the cutter doesn't hit them.
