What i do is setting the memory allocation to about half of the ram i have.

It seems to work good, and i had no problems at all.

If you experience problems with the verify,it can be your video card.

Don't forget to download the lateset driver for your video card, and update your windows with the service packs.

Enjoy your new system. smile.gif

For 128MB, I'd suggest the following as a place to start;

8,000

8,000

500

32,000

32,000

HTH

BTW, RAM is so cheap these days, I would not even consider running a machine without AT LEAST 256MB for doing this kind of work, shoot if the boss wouldn't spring for it, I'd do it myself. You can get 512MB for the proce of a good 2-3 Digital Mic at my local computer store, well worth it.

I have 512m of ram and a ramdisk set up in my cpu. My Mastercam settings are :

5000

5000

1000

64000

128000

and my ramdisk has 256m of ram set aside for it. I run in to trouble with my ramdisk if I have it set lower on more computer intesive toolpaths. I recomend the ramdisk, for 80 bucks it makes a noticable difference in toolpath calculation time.

RAMdisk is software that sets aside some of your RAM as drive space. I don't think it will speed up your verify but if you set Mastercam to write its REGEN and Temp files to the RAMdisk, it makes toolpath generation go a little bit faster. There's a thread in the tech tips that has a link to there site
