Different datums, G54, G55 etc

Can any body help me in setting G54,G55 datums in the program, Say machining a feature in G54, then spinning the Table (B axis) by 90 degs, then you are at G55, then machine the 2nd feature ? [email protected]

sean thats a simple cut and paste... the program should be first run under G54 then rotate your 4th G90 to position and copy the program again with G55 replacing the G54 in the start of every tool, or for example in some machines your offsets look like this

 

G50 x 0.00 y 0.00 z 0.00 b 0.00

g54 x 10.00 y 10.00 z 0.00 b 0.00

g55 x 10.00 y 10.00 z 0.00 b 180.00

 

this would also work without using the G90 position

If your using v9 use your WCS and create your horizontals B axis planes relative to your "Systems Top Plane", then reorigin them by selecting a new origin and assign them an offset number,0=G54 and so on,then when you wanna machine on them select the one you want and right click on it and set it your "Tool and Construction Plane"

I hope that Version 10 will simplify the application of multiple work offsets and sub-programs, since these seem to be the most common questions asked.

Peter E - Doesn't look like the next version will be shipping with a personal Mastercam trainer.

 

I guess what I'm saying is that it's all there already, and it's just a matter of knowing how to do it, which boils down to a training issue.

 

Good point though, the frequent questions in those areas do suggest that it could perhaps be more intuitive.
