3D MOUSE

We got one of those for one of our programmers.

He is left handed and had been using right hand mice for years.

His wrist and forearm were getting so bad he could not work

We got him a left hand Evoluent Vertical mouse and it solved the problem

I'm not sure how many buttons he has programmed for Mastercam functions, but you can do it

I've got the Space Nav. It's good enough to get most of my work done and if I happen to want to take it on the go, it's easy and small enough to toss in my laptop bag.

On the down side, I've gotten so used to having it if i work on someone elses machine that doesn't have one, I fell like I'm working with one hand tied behind my back.

Preachin' to the choir here....

Emphasis fiss...

:D

I didn't start using one in Mastercam until the X release of software. For a while back then, I thought I may need to get carpal tunnel surgery. Not any more even after REALLY long days programming and CAD work.

Can't say enough good things about these devices.

Here are a few of mine and small detail differences. Great tools. I am like most these days hard not to have one for programming and some other things.

As for mouses I am a Logitech person and I use the following:

Thanks for the replies. I am talking more about a mouse than a 3D mouse, but now you have me thinking.

Does a 3D mouse (for the left hand?) save a lot of work for the regular mouse in the right hand? I guess I keep my left hand anchored by the ESC and function keys and try to use it as much as possible.

What do you guys do?
