Raster to Vector conversion

This is my first time here.

Does someone know of some conversion software that is suitable for generating machinable geometry from a scanned image that doesn't cost an arm and a leg? I'd like to be able to scan a customer logo and import it as a dxf or iges file without having to do a lot of clean up.

Adobe Stream Line is the only one I have tried, but it's pretty crude.

Thanks for any help on this.

There are a lot of good programs that will convert raster images to vector images.

Adobe Streamliner

Trac Tric 2000

R2V

Corel Draw

Scan 2 Cad

Wintopo Pro

Just to name a few. All of these programs can import the vector image to Mastercam. As to what is the best it depends on what you want. If you want really good detail you will have to clean up the final results no mater which program you use. In my opinion the Raster to vector c-hook is the best. I think all of these programs have a demo version. Try them all and see what you like the best. Good Luck!

Welcome to the forum Tom.

I've tried a few raster to vector progs and find the result depends alot on the resolution of the original scan. There tends to be alot of clean up involved.Black and white is best for sure. There is a demo for wintopo on the web.
