DODGER, I have it, all holes analyze symmetrical & eq. spaced to the tenth if you need it.

kind of a PITA but I will post it if needed

no splines either...

Thanks Keith, but I think I have it now. But if you feel like posting it anyway I'm sure alot of people will learn from it. Thanks man! B)

Analyzed the contour found perimeter to be 1488.709

divide by 26 = 57.25804

broke top line at midpoint

create point segment, distance = 57.25804

broke the top line again at the last point, that "leftover line segment" was 50.242

create point segment on the arc, distance = (57.25804 - 50.242) = 7.01604

keep only the second point created, delete the first at the arc's endpoint and all others but the 2nd

broke the arc at that point

create point segment on the arc, distance = 57.25804

repeat the process for the leftover section of the arc....

xform mirror the rest

How did you & John do it?

This should be way easier than it is

kinda like my spiral staircase example a while back

we need the ability to break a CHAIN at a distance (or equal # of breaks) & to be able to control where the first break occurs

Kieth i got he same result like this.

broke the line at centerpoint.

create spline/curves spline by selecting line beside break point

create point segments

amount of point are 27 (since start and end are same point)

delete multiples

If I have a spline that does not connect and i want equal number of points spaced equally along spline but not on the endpoints i take the number of points wanted + 2 and delete the endpoints.

Lil late to the party but this is how i did it.

Analyze contour

arc1.jpg

/13

arc2.jpg

drew arcs@intersection

arc5.jpg

measured error /13

arc3.jpg

redrew arcs with error figured in

arc5.jpg

points @ intersection

arc6.jpg

last hole had a couple tenths error but plenty close for me.

points could have also been placed @centers.

Mirror on Y and good to go.......

couldnt get break many to do what I wanted it to.
