X4 -vs- x5

In a nut shell, what are the usable changes from X4 to X5 in full milling?

X5 is a much more stable release and you have optirough.

2d dynamic rest (ive had this take longer to process than a full blown optirough path for some reason)

 

2d dynamic profile (is very nice at times)

 

optirough (mentioned already)

 

island facing added to 2d dynamic paths (i think all 2d hss paths?)

 

 

circle mill allows for feed rate adjustments in finish passes

 

 

Transform has had some major changes ( I have had decent luck with transform/mirror but transform paths still seem to be buggy. I had a transformed operation completely leave out all of the clearance moves and had a close call when a tool tried to rapid through the part while traveling to the next start point. Ive also had transformed operations send the clearance moves the wrong direction in Z. Yes, that is right! Z- as a clearance move. I am still very cautious when using transformed operations)

 

3d hst hybrid finish (i havent had a chance to play with this much yet)

 

 

 

Some multi axis enhancements as well.
