when i start a new session in x5 everything is fine then i pick a file from the recent used files from the last opened files and this keeps coming up. I turn off tracking but it still shows up. what do i change or switch off to stop this. or what is the setting that causes this to appear.

tia

i just had this same error, turns out when you open your machine group properties your operations file is not the same one you have clled out in your config file. left click the file icon and search for the correct file. you'll need to do this for each machine group.

Hi Shazam I tried making my config files point to the default folders and that does not seem to solve the issue. Should they all point to my shared doc x5 or am i missing something.??

Thanks for the assist.

ps would any of the lathe configs mess with this and i guess i will look at all the folders even metric settings also.

When you installed the X5 program was everything installed to it's default location?

Did you try to bring over a config file from a previous version of the software?

Did you try sharing a config file from another user's computer that is running a different OS?

Are you trying to run config files from a server?

all of mine point to "shared mcamx5/mill/ops" folder for my ops. my problem was that i exported a some op to my desktop and then imported them in another mcx-5 file, i then deleted the ops file off my desktop, so whenever i opened that mcx-5 file it was looking for the ops file on the desktop. that's why i went into the machine groups properties and made sure it was pointing to "shared mcamx5/mill/ops" and this solved my problem. as far as the lathe configs, unless your using it in the problem file then no it wouldn't affect it. hth

Hi CJep i went with the standard defaults on all install locations for X5 just for all the other reasons and issues X5 installs have had, even with 64 bit OS7 systems i did not have many issues that could not be resolved. This waas a random thing that comes up from time to time and it did not matter if i told it to only use the settings for this one file but it would come back every now and then. After opening the config files and going thru them and even going to the metric config file and opening a couple more so all the last used dates were closer to today, it seems to have resolved the issue. So Far So Good. Thanks Shazam for the input, i will have to watch the file settings on the configs for the rest of my machine settings to make sure they do not get Caddy Wampus on me.

CJ these were all local settings so far but we do have a Net Hasp that was giving us some grief in the beginning but those things are resolved for now.

Thanks all for the Info .

:D
