X5 Bug

I get this error on a regular basis when re-selecting geometry Error: You cannot close the application while a task is still active: Mastercam::Edit Geometry. They only way to close MC at this point is to use task manager.

I used to get that regularly with X2 but have yet to come across it with X5. Although we have just recently purchased X5 (December last year).

I've been getting this a lot too w/ X5. Can't say I've seen it in X6 though.

You have to be careful when you are inside a function and then execute another function. Sometimes you get stuck inside the function and don't know it which is what this error really means. If you can reproduce it please send us the steps so we can keep it from happening. We've caught most of them but there may be a few functions that still let you go into another funciton before completing something else and we can fix those when we find them.

What seems to happen is I will reselect point geometry for a new part revision, then it will give me "Encountered an improper arguement" error, then I will get the aforementioned error. It seems to happen more often when I am using solid geometry.

It's happened to me before, but not for probably a good year. I found out what was happening and causing the problem. I would usually be adjusting the parameters on a toolpath and be in another dialogue box, tool parameter for example. I would adjust the parameters in dialogue box number 2 and forget to green check out before hitting the green check in the first dialogue box. The first one would close, but the second one would be stuck on the screen, like it didn't know where to go, and lock up mastercam.

 

Been a while and i can't be sure exactly what functions i was in that caused it, at the time. It was definitely jumping the gun on closing certain functions in the wrong order, though.

Ya me too, but it never crashed Mcam... I was always able to hit the ESC key & get out of it...

I have narrowed this issue down to re-selecting geometry for drill points, my original geometry will be solid entities and when I go to re-select new geometry this error will pop up. I am not in the middle of any other operation when this happens, this error has occured 3x during the last 2 days.

I get the exact same thing. Has anyone discovered a work around?
