Tapping in FADAL

I have a problem, I have 3 machines cnc FADAL vmc4020 one is year 2007 other 2000 and other more old.

 

I do tap with the year 2007 and 2000 but not in the oldest I've been using the same programs

I use in the other 2, someone has a similar problem? here I leave the program that I function on 2 machines and 1 no.

so let me under stand this. the taping works on the two newer machines right but not the old one? i would try spring taping in the old one. a lot of those older machines rigid tap was an option people did not won't to pay for , so it my just have spring tapping only. just an fyi the newer ones can do both you just need a spring tap holder if you don't have one.

rigid tap is an option.must not have it turned on.

he's tapping from 2. to 0.

yes you need the M5

check if the old machine is setup for format 1 or 2, as this makes a difference in tapping

The older machine probably does not have rigid tapping. It requires either a floating holder or a tapping head.

With a floating holder use a G84 (and no G84.2) or with a tapping head use a G85 boring cycle because the head reverses itself.

But that may not be your issue

I actually tap on mine with a collet and G84. Usually 5/16-18 and 3/8-16, I have to make the retract rpm identical to the feed for it to work but I get decent threads. OSG modified bottoming taps.
