Unigraphics Conversion

Anyone with UG converter willing to help get me out of jam ?

 

Have 4-5 files that need conversion.

If they are .prt files solidworks will convert them

I get many files like that

To the best of my knowledge, the SolidWorks importer will not import Unigraphics .PRT files. Maybe there's confusion because old versions of SW used .PRT (now they use .SLDPRT) and UG (as well as Pro/E) use .PRT.

When we get in any file that is not what we normal receive we have use rinho to convert it the only problem is our operator is off today but will be back monday. Let me know if that might work.

You can e-mail a file to me and I'll try it.

The files I currently am converting are from UG, at least thats what the costomers telling me and SW does it for me. maybe they are from somthing else? they have a .prt ext.

Is there a native UG format that I could request supplier to save as that MC would read without UG converter. I would prefer to stay away from IGUESS data. In the past have recieved UG models in STEP format that come in beautifully, not sure if this is another flavor of data exchange or native UG.

You mean Ernie doesn't have a UG converter?? I can translate them for you if you still need them. Put them on the ftp site, and email me at [email protected] and let me know they are there and will go from there.

Thanks all for offering your generous help. Got these files translated now...But in future I now know I can rely on you all.

 

But MayDay, I am curious as to how you can get it to work, so if I may I will email you a file to give it a shot.

Theepress there are options for converters for MC

Look here: cadcam-e Also, so you know I am now a reseller for them to as of today..

looks like will be needing quite a bit in future, customer is not to keen on creating exchange data.

 

BTW, I recieved Solid Models from you..did you create from surfaces or was UG data allready in solids?

Files were brought in as solids.

That is whats nice most of the time of getting Native files like UG or Catia.
