HAAS LATHE POST

Ive been programming for 13 years in mill and now i get to program the lathes wich is new to me so i was wondering if anybody has a haas lathe post they want to share. I need all the help i can get since our lathe guy is gone and the lathe guy we have now is not good at programming

I have Mastercam X6 and it came with a Generic Haas post.

I did see the generic haas post but generic is generic. If someone has a good working post that would help alot since lathe programming is ne to me.

If the generic post is not working for you,... then you should discuss the edits required with your reseller,...

Or you could take on the responsibility of making the required edits yourself,.... the post forum would be a good place to get technical information

If it is just 2 axis turning then the genaric is fine with a few tweaks. I spent 4 weeks on my post for a ST30SSY, added custom drill cycles for gundrilling and extended drills, also added macros to control the barfeeder with the G105 command for the Haas Servo Bar (we double push alot and this things holds +/-.005" all day long which is nice) We are here to answer questions if needed but no one is going to hand over there post. I get $1000-$1500 for a post like this, so it worth knowing how to edit/modify posts

^^^ Did you get the custom drill cycles for live tooling. I am looking on getting drilling cycles added for live tooling like peck drilling.

 

I would like to say one thing about asking for working posts. I spent a while going back and forth for a couple of months with my reseller trying to find a post that worked for my SL-30 and the live tooling. I think the best way to help someone find a post for their machine is letting someone know what the name of the post they are using and the reseller they got it through.

This way the people do not get a free post but they know what has worked for other people and who to talk to so they can get a post. It can be very annoying to go though the resellers and they are not the people writing the posts. I would like to talk directly to Inhouse but they really don't like that.

yes live tooling drill cycles work fine, I started with the generic haas SL 4x Mt_lathe.pst. It took alot to get it spitting out clean code. MPLmaster.pst also works ok just need more work I think then the other one.

^^^ Can you give an example of the drilling cycles. The post is locked and I have to go through my reseller to get the post modified. But an example of what I am going for would be great.
