Spiral Project Shallow Dish

We have a concave bowl shape 4" dia and about .0004" +/-.0001 deep in the middle. Surface finish is very critical to the customer. After testing our options the spiral project is the best for the job, but when the tolerances are tightened to .00005 the posted program makes a very small z move that makes tiny gouges in the part. I have taken part of the program and removed everything but the z moves for an example. This is our Makino machine and it responds to all of these little z changes. Can I get it to not flutter, but keep the tolerance tight.

Hey Man,

I do not have a solution to your problem but I wanted to ask you a question about your process.

I also have a bowl-type feature that I must mill. The larger OD is 1.25" and the smaller OD is .8125" and the bottom of the "bowl" is .038". There is a 10 degree angle connecting the two diameters. My question is...can this surface be milled using Mastercam Mill 1 or do I have to purchase Mill3?

Thanks

@ Jay Kramer

I do not know what you mean by the Wire path of swept. Do I draw the geometry with sweep...and if so, how do I apply a toolpath to it, and what toolpath? I do not have any surfacing toolpaths.

Sorry if I am being dense, but I am basically self-taught on Mastercam and I have not done anything this complex.

Thanks
