I want to surface the top half flip it and surface the bottom half

Surface finish contour does not cut the top of the diameter. say 3/4 of an inch

on both runs of the T shape

Cant really visualize the part, but adjust the cut depths is probably what you need.

Yeah, take a screen clip with the Windows snipping tool.

Its surface contor so i belive it will not go over the top as its a contor.. try scollup starting at center ... not sure if this will work as i cant really visualize what your part looks like eaither ...can u upload it..

its a T-- 9 inches x 7 inches wide the 7 inches is the top of the T 3 inch diameters and is intersected by the 9 long 3 inch diameter.

We bore out to make tube out of it we used to weld 2 3 inch tubes together now we just surface it and bore it. It starts off has a 3.5 inch 9 x 7 blk of aluminum. You may be right surface finish contour maynot machine the top of the contour of the tube. Scallop takes very long. I'll just keep using parralle. trying to cut machine time is all.

I don't know if its just me but I'm still having a hard time visualizing your part. I get the T part, but what is the top of the T? Is it a 7" diameter piece or a 7" square? The bottom of the T is a 3" diameter x 9" long?

I think I get it now. Take 3" tubing. Cut one piece 9", and one 7". The 7" piece is the top of the "T".

 

In that case try Flowline. I will post an example with the Home Learning edition when I get home.

I created 3 solids. Each color in this image is a separate solid:

 

There are 5 solid faces here. Create a Flowline toolpath for each. Set the Flow like this:

 

Create a toolpath for each solid face. Backplots and you will have this:

very nice ninja, i think it would be less clicks and easer to just finish paralle up the T then accross the T at 90 deg just checking the opposing faces but just my opinion

Pick the boss as check surfaces then drive it separately.
