4th axis rotary (solid model) for haas

Fine ppl o emastercam.

 

I am finally working on my 1st mold component that will be on a

90 degree rotary 'B' axis. it will be a round bell shaped core insert comprised of

12 inserts mounted on a plate which will inter seat into the

mold base to allow me to vent the long 1/2 deg ribs that would

take hours and hours to cut with a .094" ball 1/2 degree die sink with a 6" reach.

 

So i chose to use the rotary axis and cut them with a trans form tool path

that Jeremy Herron has already help me create.

 

WOOT!

 

I am just wondering where to find or if some one has a solid model of 9" inch HRT 310

rotary they could send me or point to a direction'

where to dload one?

Chick has done their homework as far as having machine specific rotary setups, especially for Haas

I edited my original post with the model # of the rotary i am using

 

Thanks mdk, I checked their site but like every where i look(Haas site)

either i dont know where the dload solid model button is, or they dont offer

the solid model.

 

any links you may be able to provide would be greatly appreciated.

no downloads on Haascnc.com that i'm aware of. Pdf there would allow you to sketch easy enough

That rotary wouldn't take long to model up. How accurate does it need to be?

Haas has THE WORST drawings for their machines and components. It is like they purposely omit dimensions and give you wrong dimensions so you can't draw anything even close to their actual components.

I have the rotary part of it done Rick. Just have to model up the body and other parts. Have to hit the sack. If you need this let me know and I will finish it tomorrow.

I am trying to model this from the dimensions on Haas' web site. This ridiculous drawing is nowhere near correct. Can you send me what you have Rick? Because the numbers are not right on the one I have.

I think I see what Haas has done. They just used a stock drawing (I believe of the HRT20) and put the dimensions for the 310 on it. I'll have this done in a few...

I didn't have all of the dimensions such as the 6 bolts in the faceplate and a few others. And I kind of guessed on the undercut near the bottom on the front and back for the bolt relief. But here it is. I will get it uploaded tomorrow.
