Verify Rotation point

In verify X7 sp2, is it possible to set the rotation point?

 

I am using the center mouse wheel and when I rotate with it my model disappears because the rotation pint is somewhere else in space.

Wherever you click on the part, with the wheel on the mouse, is the location of the rotation point. If you click off the part, somewhere in space, it rotates based on that selection.

If you wish, you can left click a point, then wheel click and that will pinpoint your exact rotation point. I attached a video showing multiple points chosen with the final one or two being ones I left clicked, then wheel clicked, to rotate, which gives an example of what you seem to be seeing.

Starry you can also set the same one for your 3D Mouse and it will use it for its rotation point.

One of these days Jay.... It's not on the top of my priority list at the moment, but it has been a thought.

I must have a setting different because as soon as I start to do it, everything moves quickly away. I then click the fit button and it come back in a rotated position.

Shawn, if you left click on the part, and without moving at all, wheel click and rotate, what happens?

In CONFIGURATION > SPIN CONTROLS, what are the numbers?

I have seen this exact problem with the Verify rotation point on a few different computers and updating the graphics driver fixed it every time.

I'm trying a few things out on X7 SP2, this is one I've noticed that is an inconvenience.

 

In system configuration I have Pan selected in the Middle Button/Wheel use section.

Doing this does not allow me to spin/dynamically rotate in the new verify or backplot.

I've tested it by changing Middle Button/Wheel use to Spin and it will allow me to do so in verify/backplot.

Anyone else experience this?

 

I'll send this one off to QC if it's a bug.

I don't think it's technically a bug, just something that wasn't thought of. There are no right click mouse options in verify/backplot. In previous versions of MCX I would right mouse click to dynamically rotate in any part of Mastercam. (CAD, Verify & Backplot)

RTcat, Sense you have reversed them to dynamic spin now use the center wheel while pushing the Alt button on the keyboard.
