5 Axis Gouge Problem

Recommended Posts

I've uploaded a file named SWIRLER BURNER.MC9 to the MC9 folder on the FTP. Its a Swarf 5 Axis toolpath that appears to gouge at both ends of the "tooth".

The user I'm trying to help out has tried different methods to eliminate it, as I have. If anyone has a chance, could they take a look at it, and give me some feedback?

Thanks in advance.

Mick

I looked at it alos and I did sync by points like I use to do for alot of my parts. I also turned on the filters and that did not seem to help. I took what plasttav had compared it to the origainl NC code and I still see the jog in there with the post I have to post it with. I have seen this in the verbose mode also. I have looked at it in flow and trying to see what it does right now. Let you know.

Plastav,

I checked out the file, but I see the gouges are still there. I've tried different syncing, but it hasn't helped. I'm beginning to think that maybe its something in the model.

Millman,

Let use know how you get on. I'll see if the customer can check out the model smile.gif

Cheers,

Mick

Was wodnering when you were going to pop up been thinking the same thing. And yes it would be a perfect candiate for rolldie if it were a contiouns cut but it is not so was wonering who to make it do tooldie with rotary postion change back to rolldie then rotary postion change.

I don't know if this will help or not.

Finish the ends of the teeth during the lathe operation, then finish the walls as seperate cuts.

Check out swirlburner-gcode on the ftp site.

I beleive those toolpaths will accuratly machine

the teeth walls without gouges
