PLANAR CHAIN SET?

HI,

I AM TRYING TO EXTRUDE A SHAPE BUT IT IS A CURVED SPLINE THAT IS TRUE 3D. I WAS WONDERING IF ANYBODY EVER FOUND A WAY AROUND THE DREADED "OPERATION REQUIRES PLANAR CHAIN SET"? I WOULD APPRICIATE ANY HELP. THANKS.

Hi Harold, 1st welcome to the forum, 2nd turn-off cap locks because it means you're yelling ay us and 3rd there's many way to get rid of this, you could create a surface with your curve and then surface next menu from surface and make a solid sheet out of it and then thicken it or do a sweep depending on the geometry, if you can upload the file it would help.

And don`t forget about loft.

 

Translate spline to the needed place and do solid-> loft or create->surface->loft
