X8 Level names on File-Open

It seems that when opening Inventor or SolidWorks files (or maybe any file type, I usually just get these), the levels that the data comes in on automatically get named what the file name was. Can this be changed? What controls this?

If you're merging one model at a time, I can see the usefulness of it. When you open an assembly file and you have 300 levels all named the same thing, that's just intrusive clutter.

Luckily, it appears that my problems are solved by bringing in my own level names from my saved .CSV file. All the garbage gets written over.

At minimum, this feature of automatically naming levels should be something that can be enabled or disabled in the config.

Yeah. They can't make that change fast enough for me.  It is not unusual for me to have to open assembly files of a mold, with close to 200 components.

Please, Please, hurry and make a check box in the config, to turn this new level naming thing, off.   It is a PITA to un-name 175 levels.

Bill,

In the meantime, you could try creating a .CSV with no level names (only level numbers). Then you could import those level names which would un-name all the levels in a few clicks. You'd have to go up to level 300 or so just to be safe. It seems like kind of a pain, but once you spent the 15 minutes on setting it up, you'd never have to do it again.
